Skilled-Recognised Graduate visa (subclass 476) Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Skilled-Recognised Graduate visa (subclass 476), you must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Under 31 years of age at the time of application.
- Hold a recognized engineering qualification (Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, Doctoral degree, or Postgraduate Diploma) in one of the eligible engineering fields.
- Completed the qualification within the 24 months prior to lodging the application.
- Graduated from an institution accredited under the Washington Accord or specified by the Department of Home Affairs.
- Meet the English language requirement through one of the following: Hold a passport from the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, or New Zealand.
- Achieve an overall score of 6.0 on the IELTS (Academic or General Training) test, with at least 5.0 in each band.
- Obtain equivalent scores in other approved English language tests (OET, PTE Academic, TOEFL iBT, Cambridge English: Advanced).
- Meet the Australian government’s health and character standards.
- Sign an Australian values statement affirming your commitment to Australian society and values.

COVID-19 Concessions
Please note: Effective 25 November 2023, extensions based on COVID-19 concessions are no longer available for the Subclass 476 Skilled-Recognised Graduate visa. While existing extensions remain valid until 14 April 2024, new applications under this provision are no longer accepted.
If you’re a Subclass 476 visa holder and need to remain in Australia beyond your visa expiry date, you have two options:

Additional Considerations:
Visa capping: The Subclass 476 visa has been capped since 22 December 2023, meaning limited places are available.
