Eligibility Requirements for Employees
To be eligible for the Temporary Skill Shortage visa (subclass 482) – Short-term stream, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Hold an appropriate visa if applying in Australia
- Comply with previous visa conditions
- Be nominated by an approved sponsor
- Work for your nominating employer
- Have relevant skills, qualifications, and employment background to perform occupation
- Have worked in your nominated occupation or a related field for at least 2 years
- Have a positive skills assessment if mandatory
- Have health insurance
- Meet the health and character requirements
- Be a genuine temporary entrant (GTE)
- Not have had a visa cancelled or a previous application refused in Australia
- Have no debt to the Australian government
