There is no Visa Application Charge (VAC) for the Electronic Travel Authority visa (subclass 601). However, there may be an application service charge of AUD20. The processing time for this visa is less than 1 working day.
Electronic Travel Authority (subclass 601) Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Electronic Travel Authority (subclass 601) visa, you must:
- Apply from outside Australia
- Have an eligible passport
- Be a genuine visitor with no intention of staying in Australia permanently
- Meet the health and character requirements
- Have paid back any debt to the Australian Government
Stay and Conditions
With the Electronic Travel Authority (subclass 601) visa, you can stay in Australia for up to 3 months at a time and visit the country as many times as you wish within a 12-month period. You can visit family or friends, have a holiday or undertake some business visitor activities. If you stay in Australia for long periods or make frequent visits, you may be asked about your travel purpose and your Electronic Travel Authority may be cancelled if you are found not to be a genuine visitor.
