Role Overview:

As a Special Class Teacher, you will be responsible for designing and implementing educational programs tailored to the unique needs of students within a special education setting. Your role will involve close collaboration with other educators, specialists, and families to create a supportive and effective learning environment for students with disabilities or learning difficulties.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds a valid Australian teaching certification with additional qualifications or experience in special education.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to inclusive education principles and practices.
  • Experience in creating and delivering individualised education plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.

For International Qualified Teachers: 

To qualify for the position, candidates with international teaching credentials must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold international teaching qualifications.
  • Fulfil one of the following educational requirements:
    • A four-year Bachelor of Education degree, OR
    • A three-year degree in any subject plus a one-year Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
  • Provide evidence of completing at least 45 days of supervised teaching practice as part of the required initial teacher education program.
