Roof Tiler Job in Sydney Australia

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of documented experience in roof tiling.
• Qualifications: Must hold a roof tiling licence.
• Skill Level: AQF Certificate III, which includes at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3). At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
• Availability: Able to work Monday to Friday, mornings and afternoons, with flexibility for other shifts as needed.
• Start Date: ASAP.
• Work Rights: Must have working rights in Australia. If you do not, the employer may consider sponsoring on a 482 visa.
• Registration: Licensing may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Study drawings, specifications, and work sites to determine the materials required.
• Erect ladders and scaffolds.
• Place and secure waterproof sheets over eaves.
• Nail and staple roofing underlay to roofs.
• Align starter rows of roofing material with edges of roofs, securing with wire, staples, and nails, and overlap successive layers of tiles.
• Size and cut roofing material to fit around vents, chimney edges, corners, and ridges.
• Fix edge and ridge tiles in cement mortar.
• Slip roofing material under prefabricated flashing and nail it down.
• Caulk and flash exposed nail heads to prevent leaks.
