Requirements:
- Trade qualification as a Boilermaker
- Proven experience in metal fabrication, welding, and assembly
- Ability to analyse blueprints, drawings, and specifications to identify job requirements
- Skills in choosing, cleaning, and preparing metal stock for fabrication
- Proficiency with hand tools, flame-cutting torches, and metal-cutting machines for cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes
- Capability in shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, heating, and hammering techniques
- Ensuring precise alignment of parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
- Utilising various welding techniques, bolting, and riveting to join metal sections
- Inspecting welds for width of bead, penetration, and overall precision
- Performing finishing tasks such as cleaning, polishing, filing, and immersing products in acidic solutions for smooth and clean welds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and precision in metalwork
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
Additional Requirements:
- Certifications for working in confined spaces and at heights are expected, adding a valuable dimension to the skill set.
- Holding a high-risk licence is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Applicants must pass a pre-employment medical examination and a National Police Check (NPC) to ensure they meet the health and safety standards required for the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures with precision and attention to detail.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Prepare metal stock by cutting, shaping, and welding various metal sections and components.
- Perform welding, bolting, and riveting to join metal parts.
- Conduct inspections to ensure welds meet specified standards.
- Finish products by cleaning, polishing, and other necessary processes.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
Salary Range:
Competitive salary range based on experience, between AUD 90,000 to AUD 110,000 per annum.
