Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462)

Each program year (1 July to 30 June), there is a limit on the number of first Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visas that can be issued to applicants from the countries listed below.

When this limit is reached, the application status for that country will be marked as ‘closed’ in the table, meaning no more applications will be accepted until the next program year begins. There is no limit on second or third Work and Holiday visas.

The table below shows the current application status for each country.

Open – Applications are being accepted. For information on how to apply online, see the Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa.

PAUSED – Applications are temporarily halted either because the cap is nearly reached or for other operational reasons. Check back to see when they will reopen.

CLOSED – Applications are not being accepted until the new program year starts on 1 July.
