To be eligible for the Temporary Activity visa (subclass 408) – Special Program, you must meet the following requirements:
- Have an invitation to participate in an approved special program
- Be supported or sponsored depending on your circumstances
- Apply online
- Take part in an approved special program, which includes cultural enrichment or community benefit programs, youth exchange programs, school language assistance programs, or school-to-school interchange programs
- Have a supporter or sponsor depending on your circumstances
- Be of the right age for the special program you apply for
- Meet the health and character requirements
- Have adequate health insurance
- Be a genuine temporary entrant
- Have paid back any debt to the Australian Government
- Not have had a visa cancelled or a previous application refused in Australia
