Requirements:
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter
- Valid white card and driver’s licence preferred
- Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery and equipment
- Ability to analyse drawings and specifications to determine appropriate material, method, and sequence of operations, as well as machine settings
- Skill in fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to manufacture machines and equipment
- Proficiency in verifying accuracy, clearance, and fit of fabricated and assembled metal parts using precision measuring instruments
- Experience in configuring guides, stops, and controls on machining tools, setting up cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses, and adjusting controls for textile machines
- Capability in achieving fine tolerances in metal stock and castings using machining tools for pressing, cutting, grinding, planing, boring, and drilling metal
- Competence in performing tasks such as cutting, threading, bending, and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
- Preparing pattern mechanisms to regulate the operation of textile machines involved in spinning, weaving, knitting, sewing, and tufting fabric
- Identifying faults, conducting operational maintenance on machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
- Potentially installing machines and equipment on-site
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience working in mines
Additional Requirements:
- Certifications for working in confined spaces and at heights are expected, adding a valuable dimension to the skill set
- Holding a high-risk licence is beneficial but not mandatory
- Applicants must pass a pre-employment medical examination and a National Police Check (NPC) to ensure they meet the health and safety standards required for the role
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair, and install mechanical systems and equipment

- Fit fabricated metal parts into products and assemble metal parts and subassemblies

Salary Range:
Competitive salary range based on experience, between AUD 90,000 to AUD 110,000 per annum.
